I’ve been having mountain dreams today. This afternoon I volunteered at a school book fair, and as the children were fighting over Dora the Explorer and Transformers, I swear I could almost feel the rocks beneath my feet. Then, as they picked out 50 cent bookmarks, I felt the cool breeze of mountain air on my face.
Ok. Maybe you can tell, I need a break! And there’s no where better to go than to the mountains (unless you count downtown… altogether now!). I’d like to share some pictures of a hike Bartek and I did in May 2010. It’s called Old Fort Point and is located in Jasper National Park.

Bartek and I like to try a new hike every time we go to the mountains (though last time we didn’t because I was too busy shopping for tea)
It took us about 2 hrs, round trip (plus exploration). The maximum elevation was 1165m (3822 ft). The weather was sunny, but chilly (because it was early May). The hike offered us amazing views of the Athabasca river and valley.
We also got very close to some mountain goats that were hanging around! So friendly and so cute!
If you ever get the chance, check it out!
