And The Dips Go On

Wow! What a week it’s been! I’ve been battling my September flu (short story: I get sick every September), which has been putting a major damper on my plans! I’ve had to rebook lots of appointments that I made for this week, including a desperately needed hair appointment! Oh well, next week it is!

But I feel really bad about not posting the recipe for my Extra Garlicy dip. I know I promised you guys. Can you forgive me? I promise it was worth the wait. Make it tonight! Actually, make it tomorrow so you can enjoy a garlicy weekend, guilt free!

[so simple, it only requires 3 ingredients...YEAH RIGHT!]

Extra Garlicy Dip

This recipe is all about personal taste preferences. The amount of my ingredients are just a guideline, but will vary depending on the individual. That being said, feel free to play with the amounts!

Ingredients:

1 cup Greek Yogurt (Sour cream tastes better, but greek yogurt is nutritionally preferred by me)
4-6 cloves of garlic
1-2 tsp sugar (optional, not really needed if made with yogurt)
1-2 tbsp dried Basil
1-2 pinches salt
1-2 tsp pepper
1-2 tbsp Dill
1-2 tsp lemon juice

Directions:

Crush and mince garlic either by hand or using garlic press. Combine with yogurt. Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Adjust to taste as necessary.

This dip is really the most versatile of the three. I’ve used it as a dressing for salad, a topping for chicken/fish, a dip for veggies, or even a spread for sandwich. In addition, it lasts a really long time. I would go by the expiration date of the yogurt, though it probably won’t last as long, seeing as you’ll have to offer (aka force feed) it to everyone you encounter so you don’t stand out with garlic breath. It is very healthy after all, so you’ll be doing everyone a favor.

But you do what you gotta do, right? If worse come to worse, you can spend Friday night with me. I won’t mind :)

xoxo M

Do you ever have garlic shame, or do you eat it with pride?
