The Lean Green Bean

June Foodie Penpal

Welcome to the last day of June! Has it been a good month?

For me I can only say yes. Mostly because Bartek has come to stay with me now until school ends! I’m so happy :)

Another thing that made June fantastic is that I received a great foodie penpal package!

The Lean Green Bean

This month I received a package from the super chic Helene at The Healthy Frenchie. Here’s what she sent me:

From Left to Right:

Homemade balls, Lemon Yerba Mate, Peanut butter cookies, and Sunflower seed butter!

-The balls are amazing, I broke into those babies as soon as I got them. Some of them are popcorn and the others are more chocolate like. I asked Helene for the recipe and they are so super easy to make. I hope she doesn’t mind if I share!

Blend 1 cup and 1 table spoon of cocoa powder together until smooth.

That’s the base. Then you can add whatever you have on hand like pop corn or nuts :)
-The Yerba Mate is lemon, which I’ve never tried. I’ve tried regular mate before and I love it, so I’m excited to try a new variety!
-The Peanut butter cookies look soooo good! I haven’t tried them yet, but I know when I do it’ll be hard to hold back!!
-The sunflower seed butter arrived at the perfect time! The day I got my package, I had just used up the last of my almond butter with breakfast! Now I’m onto the sunflower seed butter and I love it. It tastes exactly like you imagine: sunflower seeds. Very good! My sister, who is allergic to nuts, may end up with a jar of this stuff as a present :)
Yum!
I have to run to the grocery store before it gets too much hotter here. I need to stock up on food since I have all next week off so I’m going to have time to do some cooking. You know, on top of the massive amount of assignments I have!
Happy Canada Day (in advance)! Let’s all remember what a wonderful country we live on, and that it’s our actions (or inactions) which make it as it is.
xoxoxo Miranda
